JETRO Chiba Hosts 40 Overseas Companies for Online Health Care Business Meetings

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Chiba launched "JETRO Healthcare Business Forum 2022 in Chiba" online on Feb 1st. Through Feb 4th, about 40 companies including pharmaceuticals and medical device providers in Europe, America and Asia, and startups related to elderly care will participate, interact with health care companies, universities, and research institutes in Chiba prefecture and Tokyo, and lead to joint research and business alliances.

While overseas companies are presenting their products and technologies such as drug discovery by artificial intelligence (AI) and future disease prediction, from Japan, professors at Chiba University Graduate School and executives of the National Cancer Center Hospital East (Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture) and others are also giving lectures. There will also be a place for online business negotiations and exchanges with participating Japanese companies and institutions.

Along with Chiba University, advanced medical research institutes gathered in the prefecture, where a similar forum was held in 2020. Due to the influence of COVID-19, it has been held online since 2021, and this is the second time. It is said that the participation of foreign companies has increased. About 200 people participated on the Japanese side, and it is said that the number of business negotiations and applications has increased to more than 40 as of the evening of the 1st day.
